Healthy Living and Gardening Nov.16-24

Hello!
Thanks for all of your help keeping children home sick if they have been because we seem to be cycling through a lot of sickness at Northern Voices! We are finished with our houses/family/friends unit and are starting a new one: Healthy Living and Gardening! This should be a lot of fun and we will be doing great activities over the next week and a half before Thanksgiving break.

Mon, 11/16: NV teachers will put on a skit to kick-off the theme by showing how to keep our bodies healthy through eating and exercise.
Tues, 11/17: Talk about healthy vs. unhealthy food to eat and sample the food!
Wed, 11/18: Make butter with baby food jars...yum!
Thurs, 11/19: Make paper bag turkeys...gobble gobble!
Fri, 11/20: Make "Stone Soup" and talk about all of the healthy vegetables that go in soup


Mon, 11/23: Cook assigned food for the Thanksgiving feast the following day! mmmm!
Tues, 11/24: HALF DAY and we will be having our annual Thanksgiving feast with some of the food the children make!!!! Please come and celebrate this even with us starting at 11:15. Let me know if you can come to volunteer!

NO SCHOOL Wed, 11/25-Fri, 11/27: THANKSGIVING BREAK!!!! ENJOY your turkey and Safe Travels!
